Celebrity split #2: Lindsay and Sarah
Hollywood wild child Lindsay Lohan has had a hard year. First, she gets publically dumped by girlfriend Samantha Ronson in a string of events that allegedly involved lots of booze and a restraining order. Then her father tries to have her committed, she was accused of stealing $30,000 worth of jewellery during an Elle Magazine photo shoot, and her Fashion Week designer debut was panned by the critics. But still, there’s always her blossoming acting career. Oh.

Too low for zero
British Vogue editor Alexandra Schulman waded into the Size Zero debate by penning a caustic letter to the major fashion houses criticising the way make teeny tiny garments. These then force magazines to use teeny tiny models, which provide us ordinary women with whopping big body hang-ups. Ahem. Anyway, let’s not forget that a US size Zero is equivalent to a UK size 6. That’s the size of your average 10 year old. Not a good look by anyone’s standard, except those in Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Celebrity split #3: Jordan and Alex
Not content with divorcing her Peter Andre in the glare of the public eye, Jordan then dumps her cross-dressing cage fighter boyfriend Alex Reid live on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, before announcing to the world that she wants to get back with Pete. It was all so predictable. If he knows what's good for him he’d run for the hills…



Remembrance Sunday
2009 saw the passing of the last remaining UK WWI veterans, marking the end of an era. Bill Stone aged 108 years, Henry Allingham aged113, and Harry Patch (pictured above), aged 111 years all died this year. Commemoration services were held on Remembrance Sunday.
