Char wants me to choose Mike.

Vicky, my work colleague, thinks I should go for Sam.

The clock is ticking impatiently on my desk. I feel sick.

Eventually I pick up the phone and call Mike.

"It's me."

"Hey gorgeous girl. How's things?"

"No great."

"What's up?"

"We need to talk."

"That doesn't sound great."

"It's not."

"After work OK?"

"Yup, Ill see you then."

Then I call Sam.

"It's me."

"So, have you told him?"

"Not yet."

"He s just using you Elle. He keeps on telling me he's only in it for a bit of fun. In fact, he said only yesterday that he had three other women on the go at the same time as you."

"He did?"

"yup."

"I'm seeing him tonight to talk."

"OK, call me after."

"I will....Sam?"

"Yes"

"You promise you're telling me the truth."

"Promise."

"K. Bye."

"Bye."

I then switch off my tape recorder and put it back into my handbag.
